Wreckfest 2 Announced!

This week, video game developer THQ Nordic quietly announced the highly anticipated sequel to Wreckfest, the original demolition derby-inspired racing game from 2018.

Wreckfest 2 looks to build upon the chaotic fun and thrilling gameplay that fans loved in its predecessor. 

With enhanced graphics and physics, players can expect an even more immersive experience as they smash, crash, and race their way to victory in adrenaline-packed events. 

THQ Nordic seem to have taken player feedback into account; introducing a variety of new features, including expanded vehicle customisation options, a richer selection of tracks, and improved AI that promises to challenge even the most seasoned players.

Personally, I am looking forward to the emphasis on multiplayer gameplay, which looks like it is already fostering a vibrant online community where players can compete in head-to-head races or participate in massive demolition derbies. 

Of course, the game will also offer a robust single-player campaign, filled with engaging challenges and unique events that showcase the diverse vehicles and environments. From classic muscle cars to quirky, unconventional contraptions, the lineup promises to cater to every kind of racer - hopefully we will see the return of combine harvesters and that toilet chair thing! There has been no mention of VR compatibility so far, but fingers crossed the developers add it in before release, or with an update in the future!

Wreckfest 2 is poised to deliver a blend of exhilarating gameplay, nostalgic charm, and new innovations, making it a must-play title for both fans of the original and new players alike.

Wreckfest 2 will be available on PS5, Windows, and Xbox Series S / X.

Release date is yet to be confirmed, but we are hoping it will be mid-2025!
